Branding

Youdit does not sell ready made gowns and the dresses listed on the site are showcased to inspire clients , we make bespoke gowns and create dresses inspired by the clients choice from what they can see in the photos also giving the client the option to change the dress and then tailoring it to their exact specification.

Grades of Materials

We offer 2 fabric grades to cater for your quality and budget needs:

  • Premium Grade Materials: Fabrics are mainly polyester/synthetic. High quality beading made from glass (except faux pearls). No extra cost for this grade.

  • Designer Grade Materials: Fabrics and beading materials are the highest quality we have available to offer. Fabrics are partially silk, and beading are made from glass (except faux pearls). The crystals are of generic brand, but equivalent in quality when compared with Swarovski crystals. 30% extra cost for this grade.

  • Scope of Acceptance for Order Requirements

    We do not offer continuity from consultation to ordering

    We do not keep a log for the consultation details as it would increase the cost of customer service tremendously. This means only requirements presented to us at the time of placing the order or after placing the order (sending us the order form and paying) will BE RECORDED into the corresponding work order. Any requirements given to us BEFORE placing the order will NOT be in the work order. This is because:

  • We receive a lot of inquiries and only a percentage of customers actually order, so recording all details of every inquiry would produce a lot of wasted man hours.

  • Customers often change their minds throughout the consultation process so their final order requirements are often different from what they thought of previously, so going through the history of consultation is quite inefficient and can get expensive.

  • Customers often inquire about multiple items, so the amount of inquiries really add up to be quite messy for certain customers.

  • We simply do not have the resource to record everything that has happened before the order was placed, and even if we did, it would take a lot of man hours to sort through, identify, and understand them. Thanks for your understanding.

    Photo Service

    We offer "Photo Services" to all orders with at least 5 weeks of completion time as an option, and each photo set (basically each time we take photos) would cost £30 each. So if you request a lot of revisions or if you have a lot of items/accessories in your order, then it would cost more. We try to combine accessories together into 1 photo set but for some large orders it wouldn't be possible. Each photo set contain about 2-10 photos normally.

    If you order requires photos, then estimated photo fees (£60 for dress, £60 for all accessories up to 3 items) will be added to your order total.

    We do not combine photos of accessories with dress. However, we can combine photos of multiple accessories together. The reason is because each photo set needs to be limited to be no more than 10 photos for the associated cost, and for a dress typically all 10 photos need to be used to to show all the details and angles, otherwise we might not cover all the basis for the dress. For accessories, we can combine photos because each accessory typically only requires 2-4 photos.

    Please note that if you choose "Yes" for photo service, then when we send you mid-production photos, the item will be considered to be "initially complete". And the dress should usually be finished within 2 weeks after you confirm the item can be finished. Therefore, ordering photo service will effectively delay the turn around time by about 2 weeks or more. If the dress has a lot of beading, then we may need even more time to finish the dress.

    When you choose photo service or no photo service for your order, you cannot choose how many photo sets we will provide. This service comes as a package deal, so we do not accommodate "only mid-production photos" or "only photos for this item, but no photos for that item". We will either not provide photos at all, or we will provide photos through out each phase of production. The reason is because if we only provide photos for the FINISHED dress, then if a revision needs to be made, then it would be extremely costly to do that revision usually as we have to undo and redo A LOT of work – and the cost of this will be covered by either the customer or us, either way it is not wise at all. Some times doing revisions only at the end could damage the dress or delay the turn around time greatly. That is why we refuse to provide certain number of photo sets. You can either have no photos, or allow us send you photos as we see fit over the course of production – typically 2-3 photo sets for most dresses. Only 1 photo set would be needed for very simple dresses which has almost no details, more photo sets than 3 would be needed for very complicated dresses.

    The only exception for the above rule is that if the customer wants to receive no more photos mid-way through production. So the customer can inform us that "I don't want to receive any more photos for this entire order, please ship the order to me ASAP", and we will then stop providing photos for the rest of the order. This is the only exception we will take.

    Revisions

    If you request a revision service that does not go beyond the scope of the original order, then the revision will be free but you will be charged extra for additional photo sets needed.

    If you request a revision service that goes beyond the scope of the original order, then you will be asked if you are willing to pay a corresponding revision fee. If you agree, then you will be charged for the revision fee + fees for any additional photo sets.

    Please note that all revision requests require clear and specific illustrations, and sometimes drawings are required. Revisions cannot be executed without illustrations/drawings as well as specific requirements.

    Also please note that we are not able to make lace arrangement and beading application very symmetrical, because they are done by hand without computerized design (very expensive). If you look at original dresses, most of them do not have very symmetrical lace and beading either, except for super expensive ones. Thanks for your understanding!

    Turn Around Time

    The total turn around time for orders without Photo Service = Initial Completion Time + Quality Inspection & Final Detailing Time + Shipping Time

    The total turn around time for orders with Photo Service = Initial Completion Time + Revision Time (if any) + Time to Finish Up the Order after We Receive Confirmation that No More Revisions are Needed + Quality Inspection & Final Detailing Time + Shipping Time

    Please note that time spent on gathering/confirming order requirements and waiting for customer to complete payment are not included in the Turn Around Time. Also the Revision Time and Time to Finish Up the Order after We Receive Confirmation that No More Revisions are Needed are both variable, depending on the workload and current resource situation.

    Because we work with dress makers based in China, 3 Major Public holidays in China are also excluded from the Turn Around Time:

  • Independence Day

  • Chinese New Year

  • Labor Day

  • Revisions can take a long time to complete, depending on the complexity of the garments and the level of your standards. Also garments might not turn out to what you expect when you receive them. Therefore, we highly recommend that you order 6 months in advance to have buffer time for a backup dress, just to be safe.

    Initial Completion

    Initial Completion Time and corresponding minimum completion time are listed below, and you can reduce the completion time by paying extra rush fees (3.5% additional for every week rushed)

    Our standard turn around time: If your dress has no photo service, we will finish the dress within 13 weeks

    For orders without Photo Service

  • Dresses cost at least £300 are guaranteed to complete within 13 weeks excluding revisions, 4 weeks minimum (21% rush fees) unless a lot of beading needed

  • Dresses cost below £300 are guaranteed to complete within 11 weeks excluding revisions, 4 weeks minimum (17.5% rush fees)

  • Bridal jackets/beaded sashes are guaranteed to complete within 9 weeks excluding revisions, 4 weeks minimum (10.5% rush fees)

  • Bridal veils and accessories are guaranteed to complete within 9 weeks excluding revisions, 4 weeks minimum (10.5% rush fees)

  • For orders with Photo Service

  • Photos of dresses cost at least £300 are guaranteed to complete within 10 weeks excluding revisions, 4 weeks minimum (21% rush fees) unless a lot of beading needed

  • Photos of dresses cost below £300 are guaranteed to complete within 9 weeks excluding revisions, 4 weeks minimum (17.5% rush fees)

  • Photos of bridal jackets/beaded sashes are guaranteed to complete within 7 weeks excluding revisions, 4 weeks minimum (10.5% rush fees)

  • Photos of bridal veils and accessories are guaranteed to complete within 7 weeks excluding revisions, 4 weeks minimum (10.5% rush fees)

  • Shipping

    We charge a flat fee per shipment (worldwide economy). If you split the order into multiple shipments, then for every shipment you will be charged a corresponding flat shipping fee. No delivery time can be guaranteed, because it is not within our control. It really depends on various situations (the shipper's performance, current customs situation in receiving country, holidays situation in sending and receiving countries, earliest available flight, etc...) in addition to the Shipping Method you have chosen.

    Economy

  • Approximate Time to Deliver AFTER Shipment Dispatched: 10-14 Business Days

  • Does the Shipment Contain any Dresses: Yes - Price: £50 No - Price : £20

  • Express Shipping

  • Time: 3-5 Business Days

  • Price : $100 ( if it contains a dress ) £40 (if it doesn't contain a dress)

  • Shipment origin

    We ship all orders from China, where our workshop is located.

    Express shipping upgrade would be free if the order contains rush fee at least twice the amount for the express shipping upgrade: so if an order's express shipping upgrade would cost £50 normally, that order needs to have at least £100 of rush fee to waive this £50 upgrade fee. If an order's express shipping upgrade would cost £20 normally (due to no dress), that order needs to have at least £40 of rush fee to waive this £20 upgrade fee.

    Please note that the free shipping promotion for orders at least £1500 is economy shipping, not express shipping. The order needs to have at least £100 of rush fee to get the express shipping upgrade for free.

    Please note that any changes to the shipping information needs to be submitted to us 7 days in advance, which includes address, customs declaration. Because we need time to revise and resubmit updated shipping information to our courier for export service. We will do our best but cannot guarantee the change to be done if no 7-day window given for the change.

    If you opt to have us hold onto the dress after it is finished instead of having it shipped to you, we can store it for free for 3 months, after which £10 per month of storage fee will be charged.

    According to our historical data, about about 2% of our past shipments have been lost or damaged during transit。 Therefore, we highly recommend that you purchase the shipping insurance (2% of entire order total including shipping cost) to cover against possible losses. In the event of shipment being lost or damaged, you will be fully refunded for the entire order cost you have paid (excluding insurance cost). If time and resource permits, we will also offer free rush if you choose to re-order the dress instead of getting a full refund.

    Payment and Start of Production

    You can choose to pay the entire order in full and receive a 5% discount, or pay 50% of the order first. Either action will start the production of your order.

    We will start making your garments once you have sent us confirmation on your measurements. If you wish to change the order specifications after the production starts, then there will be an alteration fee.

    The entire order (including any additional photo set and revision fees) needs to be paid in full for the order to be shipped.

    Order Cancellation

    You can cancel the order before production starts and receive full refund (minus any transaction fees). However, after production starts, cancelling the order would only return you 50% funds of the order total (excluding shipping fees).

    Order Issues and Returns

    Dresses might not fit you perfectly the first time you try them on, so please ensure that you have realistic expectations for buying dresses without trying them on first. If the garment(s) you have received has issues, you must contact us about the issues within 3 days after receiving the order. We may provide reimbursement (minus any transaction fees) for revising/fixing those issues at our workshop's hourly rate (£10 per hour).

    You may also choose to ship the garment(s) back to us for revision/fixing, but please bear in mind that you will have to cover all related costs (round trip shipping, import taxes, revision or alteration fees, etc...). If there are issues for which we are at fault for, then we will not charge for corresponding alteration and we will waive the shipping fee for sending the garment(s) back to you - you would still have to cover all other related costs (shipping the items to us, import taxes, other revision or alteration fees, etc...).
